    Default Trolling plates?

Ihave an 18.5 ft fiberglass Deep V with a yamaha F150. I haven't sprung for a kicker motor at this point. I can't get the 150 to troll slow enough (idles at 3.5 mph). anyone have any experience with trolling plates?Just curious as to how much it would slow my boat down. I would love to hit Erie's Jig bite but also troll if I wanted. i really don't like the looks of the trolling plates but I figured this would be a $100 quick fix for the spring until I can save up 3,000 for a 9.9.

    thanks for the advice guys!

Ive used two different trolling plates, and they work fine. Still burn alot of fuel, but they work till you get a kicker. In fact, with the cost of fuel this year, a used 5-7.5hp kicker might save you money in the long run.
