    Default Tru-trip jet divers

I am wanting to switch to some tru-trip 40s this year to replace some of my older jet divers. To those of you that are using them what are your favorite colors? I believe most of the colors are crystal or transparent is that correct. Are they better than regular jet divers?

I only have all purple with beads in them but i think they all have them. capt. jim put me on to these and they are 100 times better than a regular jet diver. You dont have to fight the diver to bring them in. I use a 6-7 foot 14# vanish leader so i dont think the color matters that much. You will never use your older ones after using the tru trips.

switched to the new divers after being shown them by another captain. They are great! I would never go back! Have ran numeroous colors and i did do better on chart on sunny days and purple on cloudy days but it wasnt a long term sampling. My buddy did tell me he had exact same results at end of season

Why not fix the jets you have? Nothing wrong with buying new if you can afford it. but it's quite easy to set up older jets with releases.

I like the 40 tru trips a lot.. they dive deeper than a regular jet. But what I like the most is fishing next to rocks or shore lines when they hit bottom they release and float back to the surface rather than snagging. Not to mention not having to fight the jet back to the boat.. buy them.. color does not seem to matter. But I only use black.

Actually they are so beat up that they probably won't make it through this coming season! So I decided to replace rather than repair! But thank you for the PM it shows that you care and are willing to help.

we run inline's attached to the main line, then the jet is attached to the inline to get more depth with less line out. I know Keith along with alot of others do this.

    Default Tru Tips

Been watching this post to absorb input from everyone and I appreciate all of you. I have a box of jet divers and a lot of them have seen better days. I will be acquiring some these and using them when the water temp and after spawn has occurred. I also appreciate the input on color selection and reference to sky conditions and what to use on a specific day. I also have noted darker days, darker colors and brighter days, brighter colors. Again thanks! Keep the info coming. It is appreciated.

    Good Luck and Good Fishing
