Maybe next week
It looks like it will warm up into the 50's next week. Thinking about making a trip over to turtle creek weather permitting??? I've been reading about guys catching fish trolling, but were not really set up for that. Would it be possible to catch eyes jigging w/ long poles and the usual spring equipment or would it be better to use ice fishing equipment. Just trying to get an idea if it is worth giving it a try. Thanks for any info, and tight lines.

Guys were out trolling today (2-20) slow around 1.3 If you are set a spinning tackle, what I would do is mark some fish, anchor and jig using spinning equipment. Like your ice fishing but with regular rods. Pimples and the like would not hurt to try along with some jig heads.

Windy conditions
Wind does not look favorable for fishing in the near future!

I agree
I agree with One eye, at this time of year the walleye are out 4-8 miles off shore, which is where we Ice fish but due to no Ice I would still use the same Ice lures but anchor the boat.. The fish arn't real active this time of year and I dont think trolling would produce as many fish as Jiggin with Ice lures would.. Thats my thought havent been able to get out yet, but Lookin forwarf to catchin some fish in the near future

By the looks of the reports on the "other site" trolling has been producing very well. Lots of limits reported on Reef Runners.

I seen that as well, and saw it first hand when I was out there few weeks ago. They were doing much better than us jigers. But the reason is because all the fish we marked on the vex were suspended of bottom a ways. I refuse to troll, its like catching and drag in a old wet boot. But some days thats is the ticket.

I hear ya, rod in hand fishing , feel the bite, oh ya set the hook.
6 weeks till the boat hits the water for the great jig bite fishing.
Should be a great year for all the reports we are hearing.

If you are anchored up, and the fish were suspended couldn't a guy fish with a vexilar or something similar and catch those suspended fish? Maybe the fish would be to spooked from the boat? I really don't know, anybody have an answer?

We were using are vexlar, but we could not get them to go. It realy suprised me how well it worked. We ended up with one walleye and 3 perch. I was almost as if you were ice fishing but the bottom moved about 2 feet.
