I run a Humminbird 957c with side scan that I am happy with, but after listening to a seminar and talking with a few guides at the Mid America boat show and looking at the options that Lowrance offers I would take a look at them. I would find someone who is well educated in Lowrance. Hope this helps

i just purchased lowrance hds 8 gen2 with structure scan have it all installed, it seems real user friendly so far cant wait to see it in the water, looked at them at bass pro and cabelas to get a hands on feel for them before i bought it liked it better than the humming bird, lot of good information on the internet about them

I use the hds 10 with the b260 transducer. I could not be happier with it.. if you have any questions about the unit give me a call and I will try and help. 614-327-7144. Thks Jim.

Jim, I heard from Oliver that the HDS Gen 3 in 2013 or so will have an overlay mode in SONAR that tells you how far to run your leads on many different baits...40's 50's 600-800 reefs etc.... Those dam Lorance people are making it easier and eaiser as our angling years go on. I'm probabally gonna wait another year and retire the 587ci bird and go LORANCE!

Where the hell this ICE come from Capain Jim?

Hopefully 45 days or so togo....

sswonger one of the seminars at the Mid-America Boat show was Understanding structure and down scan sonars it was given by Lance Valentine a guide from MI (810) 965-6844. It was very informative and Lance is very knowledgeable on the benefits and use of the new lowrance systems.
