    Smile lake now

open water is no different than ice on top of it , late jan, and first two weeks of feb,. is allways hot when we have ice, the walleyes are there, but remember there no one else out there
if something happens, top spots would be A can off crane creek,
camp perry, off metgers, off anchor point, and of course the island area, if you want to be on the safe side try the piers at
night casting rapalas, long A, hot-n-toots, a few sleeper spots
beside the area around marblehead area, would be camp perry pier, metgerss pier, and on mich. side around toledo beach area,
also since the weather nice bayshore edision allways gives up some kind of fish, walleyes ,steelheads and carp and catfish are allways there. Wayne Reel Sport Charters

They're catching big fish in good numbers from Huron to Cleveland. Reef runnners running shallow out to depths of 40 fow...day and night. No first hand experience of my own but what I've heard.

Wayne-thanks for the info. Pheasant hunting was a bust this year out my way-thats why i didn't call too much water and corn still standing. We tried once and spent all morning chasing dogs in standing corn. Hopefully it will snow and we can get together and chase coyotes around, but that isn't looking good either. Oh well, soon it will be time to fish again.

Sounds like the fish are moving west again as some guys did well NW of Huron. Here is a link that will get you in the general area and the tactics they used.
