probably, but why not use a snap weight? I'm lazy and prefer to run 50ft out with a 1 oz at 20 ft than run 100ft + out to get that 12ft depth. they don't have the same action as an 800 series, but they do catch fish in the right conditions.

I fish the western basin for one week every year in spring (well, like one and a half days last year) and have only used 700 series RR's on one occasion. I have about 300 of the 800 series and maybe 50 of the 700 series. For you regulars, am I doing myself a disservice by neglecting my collection of 700 series? How often do you guys really use them compared to 800 series?
