    Default first time in 8yrs

Tomorrow will be the first time in 8yrs we will be taking the boat out on Erie. Used to go every sunday for walleyes and perch, but life happens. Well we got the boat back out and are finally heading out. Just wondering if someone could help us catch up a little bit, good location for walleyes and perch? and what type of rigs for walleyes, we used a lot of erie deeries and wiggle warts before. We leave out of bolles harbor or luna pier. Thanks for any insight to help us get back on track a little quicker and into some fish.

well we went out, had a good day until the storms came up, headed in when it started raining hard. Was out from 8-5, went out to spudnik, fished around in clumps of boats and caught a few sheephead and white bass. tried trolling, made a big loop around spudnik, used scorpion spoons, crawlers harnesses, erie deeries, and anything we had, nothing. Went back and anchored by spudnik and brought in a few nice perch around 8-9". started biting right before rain hit, bite was super light, switch to ultra light poles to feel em. Kept 8, enough for me and the wife for supper. Not great but, at least were back fishing!

the fish are moving with these storms. quite a few reports of perch around the end of the raisin river bouy's. walleye, from fermi to the bell bouy to sputnik. you just have to keep finding them and figuring out what they want. hard to go wrong with harnesses from 1 to 1.8 mph and covering the water column. using 1oz inlines from 20 to 60 back ( depending on depth ) and bouncers running just off bottom. hopfully this fall is a great one running deep huskyjerks, deep tail dancers and reef runners. the perch were crazy last year for those that fish them in the fall.
