when I head out to any honey hole, I look for marks just off the bottom (green blotches on my fish finder), the more the better, once noted I drop anchor and let the boat motor run for say 5-10 minutes, just a hey come get some call.
these perch are full of young fish, gobies from what I see in the "puke floor" of my boat.
lately, the goldens are hard to come by, all the bait shops were over whelmed by the demand given the "hot yellow gold" bite.
Anyway, back at it soon

I've never caught much around Marblehead. Why would D can be better. Guess if I wanted to head to D can I would put in at Catawba. D can is before Niagra correct.
2 hours today, using spreaders, golden shiners, on the bottom and never any bling.
up and down at times, much fun`!
did catch 3 sheep head and a bunch of white perch.
8 pounds at the cleaners.
SE of G can, two head boats working the area and about a dozen other boats.

Had a friend in that same area with you today with the same results. We went on out to D can and it was just as good in the morning. Just a farther travel across the water.
SE of G can again, 2 hours up and down , a few sheep head and not many white perch.
