Default Has anyone seen spauned out walleye floating

I was out before all the bad weather hit and seen 3 gauls sweep in about 10 yards from boat there was about a 8lb walleye floating. We started up and went over to it and it was still alive. We netted it but wasnt sure we wanted it so put it back to the delight of the gulls.Would have been harded to do but only had one more fish to finish. After getting back to shore talked to another fisherman he said he had seen 3 that week.I have fished the lake for a lot of years and had never seen this.

Ive see several come up behind the ships, that would be my GUESS. Just follow behind them and they turn up alot of fish, just watch all the gulls behind them. Its probably all the walleye concentrated around the bay spawning that you see it alot more this time of year.

Default Finally a satilite view thats not cloud covered

Check out the satilite view.. The lakes muddy but it looks like their is some fishable waters in maumee bay and some stained water off of wild wings thats not to bad.. If you are gonna try and fish I would say hit those areas.

    Smile floating walleyes

Its really commom after the big females spawning out they get
stress out and will float to the top, thats when the gulls start
to peck at them, theres something that happens to them that they can;t dive right away, then the gulls peck at them and usually kill them, they are perfectly ok to eat, I have seen this happen in the lake and the river over the years.

Hopefully I can round a trooper or two, may be a die hard trip-but I cant stay off for 2 weekends in a row. I may have to go out on own, just for a boat ride....Somethin Fishy
