Thread: 2 jigs?

    Default 2 jigs?

I have been going up to the reefs for a few years now, getting in on the spring jig bite. Has anyone ever tried a second jig up above the primary jig that bounces off the bottom? Just curious. Like the rest of you, I hope it warms up, calms down, and clears up really soon. I will be there for 5 days, starting 2 weeks from now and I hope to hear about some limits before then!! Good luck!!

    Default Should work

I was thinking the same thing. I am going to try using a stand out hook like on a drop-shot rig or a floating jig head about 12 inches above the hair jig. Never hurts to try.

I think your asking for a tangled mess when your netting a fish...... rubber net or not, I cant see any advantage, when the bites "ON" your lucky to keep one jig down there........

    Smile 2 hooks

I agree with firetiger. I get mad when the stinger hook gets fouled into the net. When it is on ---it's on. Never caught a double but have netted a few. My only recommendation for fast action is ....when you find an active school dont drift too far away from it. shorten your drifts and pound em

I have used this technique during slow periods on other lakes and it worked but will agree the net tangle is a concern
