end of april, first week of may trip
looking for some info on where to stay/launch at the end of april, early may. we haven't decided which week were coming yet. with only an 18ft boat, i'd like to launch as close to the fishing areas as possible. should we stay in the turtle creek area or Catawba?

Both areas have great fishing during that time frame. It is only about 20 min car ride from each other. Why dont you let the weather(wind) decide where you are going to fish. If its windy you can find lots of shelter and great fishing around the islands. If it is not windy you can find great fishing in the reef complex.. Just a thought be flexibal.

Skipper, when does the Jig bite seem to slow down? Im a new boat owner and I'm without a kicker. I'm wondering if I'll be limited to just jigging out there. not sure if I can get the 150 four stroke to go slow enough to troll plugs.
