Catawba Ice report. Beware.

Had a friend loss his machine and all his gear on the way out yesterday. He is ok. He said the current had made the ice thinner. He had crossed the day before and had no problems but yesterday the ice in that spot got alot thinner. Good luck.

I heard some one went through thursday around mouse , not the place to be early in the season if at all,currents strong around there . was out fri and mlk day nw of park ice was getting thicker by fri 8inches or so 1.5 out 22 ft of water no eyes just a lot of shad! conditions should be getting better but then again its always a roll of the dice,be alert! check the ice from time to time as going out.

there are signs no motorized veicles on beach could not get answer on there phone probably till monday . caalls to them might help same with camp perry they have new agenda like not being able to unload on beach beach gate was locked early friday agin some calls to army brass may help

have not seen anyone off crane creek yet, ice has stayed put there. but not at metzgers, moving in and out every other day and it is only 2 miles away. I would be very carefull at crane creek.
