7-3-10 fishing report

nw of rattle snake in a pack of boats and charters,3 guys, 30 ft, 8 fish up high all in the upper teens, green and white crooked eyes.

My buddy and I fished about 1.5 miles south of Northwest reef on 7/5. Casting chartruse weight forwards and hammered gold mayfly rigs. Finally found the feeders about 10 am. 10-noon slow bite but we put 7 walleyes in the boat. fish were between 15 and 20 feet in 30 ft of water. Had to use a fast retrieve to stay away from the junk fish. Hearing of a better bite farther to the Northwest. Last year the walleyes moved into the kidney area about this time.
