Canadian safety boating license

For anybody that needs to know. I know in my fishing circle there has been alot of rumors about US citizens needing a canadian boating license if they are driving a vessel in canadian waters. Just to let everybody know I contacted Transport Canada today to dispell the rumors and a canadian boating license is only needed by individuals renting a motorized vessel in Canada or if your stay in Canada is longer than 45 days in a row you will need a Canadian boating license for the driver of the vessel. If you want to make sure for yourself you can call Transport Canada at 1-800-267-6687 and if you need the license you can get it online at boaterexam.com. Hope this helps others out there.
