Fish caught 5/14 and 5/15

Limits of fish caught Friday and Saturday close to E can. Friday the bite was very quick, drifting gold harnesses. 5 man limit in 2 hours, most 18 to 22 inch fish, nothing huge but the numbers are there. Saturday early bite when we had a drift, pulled 21 on first slide. After that wind died and had to really work for them, but we managed the balance of a 5 man limit. Most semed to really struggle. Here was the difference, we were using a splash count with 3/8 oz of weight. You will not mark these fish that are very high, they swim around the boat, most never think to fish that high because they don't see them on their fish finder. Fish the "swing" and start crankin' when it hits the water instead of draggin' the mud. Always remember, the feeding fish are close to the surface most of the time chasing bait fish, not laying in the mud. If you want something to eat at home, you walk to the kitchen and stand in front of the fridge, you don't sit in your chair. The tip of the day.....

Good tip. Fished Saturday when the wind quit switched to the old standby 3/8 Erie Dearies and picked a few with a 5 to 10 count. If you have a good woman you can stay in your recliner and have your food brought to you.

Great tip - I was casting Saturday but tried 12 counts thru 20 counts so I was probably fishing too deep (in 35+ foot of water). Is E can over closer to the islands? Were you fishing in 30+ ft of water? Using weight forwards or worm harnesses?
