    Default Perch

Handled 350 - 400 perch to get 100 keepers Friday afternoon in 5 hours. (12:30 - 5:30) A lot of fish at 7" Kept fish 7 1/2" and above. Only about 10 were more than 8 1/2". 22' of water north of Crane Creek

Fished same area Saturday and ended the day after 4 hours of fishing with only about 60 keepers.

Bite both days was extremely soft. You lose a lot of minnows until you figure out how to hook them. Drop spreader to the bottom, leave it lay for 15 sec. slowly raise your pole and be ready to set hook if any resistance is felt. They are just holding on to it.

Default report sat and sun 8-15 and 8-16

Fished about 1.5 to 2 miles straight north of water intake both days. Saturday 3 guys fishing kept 65 but it took all day. Had 15 lbs at the cleaners. Good sized fish. sunday 2 of us fishing same place probably caught 200 to keep 50 from 9 am to 11 am. Extremely light biting just like everyone else said. Moved about 3 miles east of Intake in 21 fow and caught 3 walleyes in about 40 minutes after we caught our perch. Copper weapons fishing a 5 count. Had 6 to boat, but wife lost 3 before I could get net under them. All in all a good day.

Fish this afternoon 8/21 in 27 FOW between lakeside and marblehead. Caught 83 keepers on spreaders. Extremly windy and there was a strong current. Bight was light, had the best luck lifting lightly right off bottom.

I usually fish every weekend a well as Tuesday after work. Did so today(8/25). I fish the western basin (usually west of west sister). The perch at this end of the lake are numurous but small. They require a lot of sorting. As I mention in an earlier post, we measure every fish. Tonight fished off little cedar point and mark a lot of fish. Caught a lot of fish. Every 3rd fish was a sheephead. Caught a lot of perch but only 1 out of 4 went into the cooler. Went out to the first bouy past the light house and did not mark very many fish. Went out to the second and third set of bouys past the light house and marked a few fish. Decided to drop anchor and fished for 2 hours. Ended up with 43 keepers

    Default September Perch Fishing

Was out last night. Same spot north of Crane Creek. 4 man limit in 3 hours. A lot of sorting of fish still. More white perch showing up as well as sheephead. Red hooks with no beads or blades seemed to be the best. Keep your hooks sharp because the fish are just sucking on the bait and when you try to set the hook, it must be sharp to dig in at the first point of contact. Dull hooks equal bits but no fish on the end of the line.
