7-23 perch report

Headed out into another NE blow with 2-3 foot chop at 10 am. Went to Niagra reef and started just on the NW side. Picked a few but it didn't look good. Moved a bit to the East and it was on. The wind swung West and then layed down and we picked our 3 man limit of fatties. I will do my best to estimate our catch. 5 - 11"ers, 15- 10"ers, 30- 9"ers, 25- 8+"ers. That is a ballpark. 16 pounds of weight total. A few were catching eyes out there too.

Spoon without a GPS at this time how would you know when your on Niagra? I know the basic area.

There is a big green bouy.

If you ran out of the Portage river, you would run a 346 heading to hit Niagra. You will pass through the East corner of the impact area. Jiggy is right, a large green bell can that must be 8 ft tall sits just on the North edge of the reef. The imact area runs east and West inline with Niagra too. It is almost due north of Camp Perry.

2 man limit of perch today off of clinton in 20-25fow...almost half were 9-11inches and a whopper 12in! caught on both lake shiners and half worms. early on had a lot of junk fish including some massive sheepshead
