Lake Maps

I'm just curious what Lake Map to buy that will show the reefs and their names? Plan of fishing 3 weekend in April and I was just curious what map is better than the others'. Any info into this would be great.

Most of the bait shops in the port clinton area will sell a lamanated map showing the reefs and island areas. These maps will have compass headings and distances from the various marinas. The maps also show low water data.

Additionally, check out (www.dwfonline.com) and click on the GPS tab. The website gives the GPS numbers for most of the popular fishing locations on western lake erie including the firing range cans and reefs. GPS numbers are also listed for many of the marina entrances. This website is dedicated to the Detroit river fishery and also has fishing reports.

I received a report Saturday afternoon from a friend fishing on the reefs.
They had been fishing for about three hours and had three males in the box.
The bite was slowly improving under muddy conditions. I did not get a water
temperature reading as he was busy setting up his next drift. I'll be getting a more complete update today.
I'll be heading up on Saturday the 12th as long as the weather holds up. Steady weather this week should continue to improve the fishing. Last nights report was for windy conditions on Thursday. Let's hope that changes so the water clears. Good luck to all and remember, safety first.
