Bass Islands 7/12/09
2 man walleye limit west of Rattlesnake in about 4 hrs sunday morning. 2 throwbacks.
1- 20 inch
1- 18 inch
10-between 15 and 17 inches
2 throwbacks- 14 and 14 1/2
Drifting casting gold mayfly rigs, 15 inch leader, small dime size blades, gold beads and small hooks. Fished moderate to fast on the bottom. most fish hit when the lure went 45 degrees coming to the boat. Lost about 10 more fish as the bit was very light. Nice morning on the lake. Very few junk fish.
weight forwards and larger worm harnesses produced nothing for us.

Bass Islands 7/16/09
Fish moved north about 5 miles from sunday. 2 man limit in 4 hrs. All fish between 15-19 inches. Drift/casting gold mayfly rigs-all gold small blades and hooks on 15 inch leaders, 3/8 ounce in line sinkers. Drift was fast today and we fished very slowly as close to the bottom as possible. Very light bite. 2 14 inch throwbacks. Going back after them this weekend if they hold in the USA.
