Huron 11/16
Today in one word.....sloooooow! We were in the get ready lane by 6:45 and rollin out the river by 7:05. It was a little bumpier than expected but we made our way out to N about 7 miles. (Keep your eye out for nets in area.) We set up on a SE troll with the waves and got lines set. A spread of spoons and cranks all across water column.
For most of the day we were in 40-43 FOW. Water temp was 55.4. We trolled any where from 1.8-2.8mph. We threw all but the kitchen sink....Bandits, Flicker minnow 11 DDHJ12, Spro, Thunderstick, P10, small spoons, large spoons. We trolled all different directions and just couldn't find an actual program.
We came off the water at 4pm and only managed 9. 4 shorts, multiple whitebass and too many large sheephead.
Radio chatter (what there was) shared the same experience we had. Hopefully folks had a more productive day than us. Still an awesome day on the water!!

Same for us slow!! Couldn’t get out to where we wanted bc we lost one of our engines. Ended with 6 eyes, steelhead were willing to play got 4 of those pretty quick also one hit so hard turned the rodholder and into the drink the rod went!

Re: Huron 11/16
Parking lot at Huron was almost full by the time we got there after 9am (maybe 100 trailers?). We headed NNE til we hit 40 fow (thanks to loomis82 for that tip). We put down cranks and spoons and kept heading NNE. 33 boats in the area with us.
Never marked so many walleye in my life. Thousands. Many suspended at 35 feet. When we hit 45 fow, we turned east to avoid another boat and just kept going that direction. We ended up closer to Vermillion than Huron.
But nothing was biting. Tried various speeds and depths and colors. Finally got our first one around noon. Picked up a second and missed a third out there in 45 fow. About 1 per hour.
Trolled to shallower water but got zero doing that so went back to the 45 fow. By dark we ended up with 6 walleyes and 1 white bass. Only one hit on a bandit. (Which was purple/green, set 60 back, unassisted). Everything else hit on big spoons with flourescent pink or flourescent orange. These were assisted with 4oz weights at 40+80.
Back at the cleaning station, a lot of folks had a lot of fish. One guy said it was slow, but he had over 20, and that's after throwing a bunch back. He was trolling cranks and spoons and got one on a harness in 47 fow towards Vermillion. He said he also got a few after dark in 10-15 fow just outside the Huron river.
