[West Basin]

NOAA Western Basin nearshore forcast: YUK!
REST OF TODAY (Tuesday, April 02) ...East winds 15 to 25 knots. A chance of rain
showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms, then a chance of
rain showers and thunderstorms late. Areas of fog this afternoon.
Waves 4 to 7 feet. Waves occasionally around 9 feet.
.TONIGHT...East winds 15 to 20 knots becoming southwest. Areas of
fog in the evening. Showers with a chance of thunderstorms in the
evening, then a slight chance of showers overnight. Waves 3 to
6 feet subsiding to 1 to 3 feet. Waves occasionally around
7 feet.
The water temperature off Toledo is 46 degrees, off Cleveland 41
degrees, and off Erie 40 degrees.

This will probably muck it up good for at least 4-5 days, maybe nore. Not to mention I drove through heavy rain coming back from the Lake to Columbus on Monday, and more moving through the State today, so the Maumee, Portage, and Sandusky Rivers will be dumping lots of muddy water into the Lake for probably the next 10-12 days.

Fishing will probably be tough through the weekend.

I have been getting my boat ready to take to my dock at Meinke's but with the rain coming this week and next I may just keep it covered for a bit longer.
The muddy water will for sure put a damper on the jig bite.

Another big blow starting tonight (Thursday) through Friday. Out of the west, so not going to hit the south shores directly, but it looks like another weekend of muddied up water, plus a lot of rain last night and today will flow more muddy water in from the rivers (and debris). Water temp off Toledo is already 50 degrees.

increasing to 30 knots overnight. Showers with a chance of
thunderstorms in the evening, then showers likely with a slight
chance of thunderstorms overnight. Waves 1 to 3 feet building to
3 to 6 feet. Waves occasionally around 7 feet.
.FRIDAY...West winds to 30 knots. Showers likely. Waves 3 to
6 feet building to 4 to 7 feet. Waves occasionally around 9 feet.
.FRIDAY NIGHT...West winds to 30 knots diminishing to 15 to
25 knots. A chance of showers. Waves 5 to 8 feet subsiding to
3 to 6 feet. Waves occasionally around 10 feet.

Been a tough year for us weekend folks trying to find an open day to be able to go. Everytime it's nice enough on a weekend I have other obligations and the weekends I can squeeze a trip in the weather is a no go
At some point it will work out.
