    Default Lorain 3/2

We left out of Lorain at 730 and headed NW to about 48 ft of water. Set up the terrova and headed northwest at 1.1 to 1.5 on the finder. We ran bandits 120 unassisted,50/40 w/2 oz snaps, and 50/30 w/2 oz snaps on the left. On the right, we ran 110 unassisted,50/35 w/2 oz snaps, and 50/25 w/2 oz snaps. The morning started off quick when our middle board went off and we netted a nice 25" male. Shortly after that both unassisted lines produced quality fish as well. Most of our bigger fish came on the unassisted rods. Had a two man limit in about 2.5 hours. Orange crush and taco salad were our winning colors today.

We ran NW out to 45 FOW. Had a steady pick of quality fish this morning. The fish were from 25' to 40' in depth. Water temperature was 35 degrees. Trolling speed was 1.3 to 1.8 GPS.Custom painted Bandits that I paint up took the most fish.... caught 2 on P10's "Motion Sickness". We used 3 ounce snap weights... leads were 35/35, 40/40, 50/50. Three of our 12 were FO's, the biggest being 30 inches. Beautiful day to be on Erie, especially for this time of year.

Thanks for the reports Lee's Lads and Tuna Chaser. It seems like some of the nicer size eyes are still staging a little further east. I would have thought that these larger females would be further west by now, but obviously not. Wouldn't mind hearing from some folks who have been fishing for years on the migration patterns based on time of the year and water temps. Congrats on your nice catch!

    Tuna Chaser,

Appreciate the feedback. It sure is a gift to be able to get out and enjoy the fishing this time of year. It seems like there are some big fish hanging out in the area we fished this week. Good job and keep the reports coming from this area!
