Started trolling at sunrise on the 20th.
Made a pass from southeast of Perry’s to the Northwest corner of Kelley’s - nothing.
Moved up to Gull and made a pass along the south side of the shoal, rounded the buoy and on northeast to the fist hump- nothing.
Moved on North and set up near the Canadian line northeast of Kelley’s shoal. Made a pass East and southeast in the area of where the nets were last June - nothing. There was a Canadian commercial boat with a rather large “following”. By this time I was feeling quite humiliated having told people that there are enough fish in the lake that trolling anywhere for three hours will get you something. So we moved alongside the nearest pack “I love bumper boats” - sarcasm. Set lines in Kelley’s bay trolled east tight against long point made a loop and back - one short one keeper. Wound up before noon and looked for marks in the south passage pack on the way in. Our spread was:
2- p10’s @ 100
6- bandits 100 - 60
2- flicker minnow / small spoon combo on three way 50-50 2oz.
2- slide diver light bite with large spoon.
The red head white body bandit caught both fish.
Went out at 5pm and troll an area approximately 2.5 miles south southeast of Perry’s. Caught 5 keepers and a couple shorts in two hours. We changed out two bandits for two more p-10 and added two dipsey divers.
Monday we started where we caught the night before- nothing. Moved to just north of Green and trolled west. Circled back on an area that was working and had 13 keepers and several shorts by 10:30 when we needed to leave.
Dipsey’s caught the most followed by the p-10’s. Speed was 1.7- 2.5. Best spoon was a washed out pink with a couple dots and chartreuse back. The fish we caught west of Green were small 12-18”
