Good Bite Around West Sister Island 6/4/22

Went out this morning with my brother. The weather changed last minute and we ended up having some pretty rough conditions but we muscled it out. (We only have a 17 foot Lund)

We started north and B-Can in 28 fow. It didn’t take long and the Hummingbird Helix 7 was lit up with fish! Tons of hungry eyes and actually some nice sized fish were taken today. We had 21 inch average in our two man limit. Had them all by 10:15 and we didn’t have lines wet until 6:30. 4 fish over 23 inches ! Saw a lot of nice fish at the cleaning station too.

We pretty much went back and forth between A-Can and B-Can and just stayed on them until we limited. For some reason or another we saw better catch rates when running the trough on a westerly troll. 28 to 30 fow and trolled between 2.2 and 2.8 mph. Had a triple and two doubles trolling west with the waves.

Deep Diving Bandits! Leads were 40/60/80 on one side and 50/70/90 on the other; unassisted. Chromes and yellows and lime greens were hot for us today. We had spoons out to start the day but bandits were king.

First time using Pro-Cure scent today and it seemed to do well for us.

No boats around us, it was great. There was a huge gaggle of Sea Breezes and other charters further north fishing WNW of west sister island but we stayed away from them and did just fine.

Nice report Thanks. Might have to try that area. We're coming in tomorrow for 5 days. I was thinking of trying the Canada lines area up north of Kelly's and the Gull Island shoal. We're launching at Mazuriks.
