AZEK Bgi Boards
I'm building new big boards. Painted cedar boards only lasted 4-5 years.
Has anyone used Azek?
I am having trouble finding Azek brand at the lumber yards.
Will PVC boards sink?

Re: AZEK Bgi Boards
Solid rigid PVC has a density of 1.4. It sinks in water. But foam it below a density of 1.0, & it floats. If you are buying PVC foam board at one of the big box stores - it comes in lots of sizes and thicknesses - look for boards with very fine interior cell structure... You should hardly be able to see it. That's the stuff that generally has both the lowest density, and the best screw retention for putting it together with fasteners. It should work well for you!

Re: AZEK Bgi Boards
Menard's published the dimensions and weight of their PVC Trim Boards. I calculated a density of .58 g/cm cubed. This is slightly more dense than the cedar I had previously made from. This is good considering I attached decoy weights to the bottom of the cedar boards.
After purchasing the boards, I cut off a corner to make sure it floated. It did. The PVC board seems very durable.
I am in the process of assembling them. I'll report back in the spring.
