    Default RS Nets

Has anyone replaced the net on a RS Net 'Kelly's Island' model with an all rubber bag? I like the sturdiness of the RS handle and hoop, but I'm so tired of ruining hooks that go through the net material. I must have replaced a half dozen trebles on Friday.

I have major problems with nets.. the trebles from the bandits get all embedded in the net.. Lose lots of fishing time..so rubber nets are the answer????

I think they have their own issues but being able to take an embedded hook out has to be less effort.

Yes, so much easier to remove hooks, fewer tangles, cleaner. Buy the right size and install it on your current handle/hoop.

I use a spray-on product from Walmart called Plasti Dip that puts a rubber coating on my nets and keeps hooks from penetrating the fiber. Not foolproof but helps a bunch. Rubber nets have a lot of drag when netting fish while trolling. (In my experience)

    What brand/size did you use?

The product name is Plasti Dip and I have an 11 oz can. Looks like a spray paint can.

I purchased a ranger tangle- free triple dipped rubber coated net for my frabil hoop. Haven’t had a hook caught in the webbing yet. I pull bandits. It’s a time saver. It’s pretty deep too. Not heavy like those all rubber bags.
Picked it up from net raft for $32.

Sorry @cooleyfarms. I was on my phone and responded to the wrong post. But I will ask you how much weight PlastiDip adds to your net?
