Default Maumee state park area in late april?

Spending 4 days at maumee state park starting april 23rd. Going after Eyes. Anyone know how the fishing is in that area then or should we just go to the reef area out of wildwings?

    Default State Park Docks

    Guys,
Haven't been to State Park in years but the should have docks right there. Meaning that once you launched your boat you could dock it there? Freeze might be a problem now, I imagine you have I/O or Outboard - lower units.

Ideally the power would be on at the dock and you could run an engine heater of some sort over night ?

    That's a lot of "IFS" isn't it ?

Something to check into at least (for next year ?)?

Let us know what you find out..........

    Default big fish question

Big fish are out towards the islands after spawing. You'll see the boat packs drifting and hear them on the marine radio. I will say we got nice fish last year fishing nowhere near the packs. Hunt with the graph, mark it with the GPS and keep drifting back through them. They inhabit a generally large area around the islands and then the pods of fish move from day to day. A 20 minute drift would put us through several groups of fish.

    Default Maumee bay

Personely for numbers, maumee bay out produces the reef and its right out
in front of maumee bay state park, as water warms fishing starts at channel
and moves toward west sister as year goes on, fished both spots for years
less traffic at the bay and I think nicer fish to, its a matter of option.
