Looking to upgrade sonar but not break the bank. Any suggestions for a good sonar that is efficient and not to pricey, Also a similar entry level radar. Last time out we were in a thick fog you could not see a boat length ahead what do you all suggest?

Planning a trip in June to make the 30-mile run in this old boat from Meinke Marina to Kelly Island around middle of June next year any suggestions on where to fish around the Island? We can troll and have all the gear/lures and planers etc., but we prefer casting and drifting. let me know any suggestions you all may have thanks .

MBKMike...I'll be following this post to see how the new/old boat pans out. I have been thinking about buying an older 27" hardtop but all the known Sportcraft problems have kept me gunshy. Good luck with the build and keep us posted. I am currently looking at a 28" Marinette with an inboard of which I have no prior experience so I'm interested to see how you will like the inboard.

There usually is good fishing trolling NE of Kellies in June. You also might catch them there if the fish are shallow, but the water is deeper there. You could cast on American eagle reef,Gull island reef or Kellies island reef which are around Kellies.

So its 70 degrees and sunny in Columbus this afternoon looks like we may be fishing soon, near shore forecast says the water temperature off Toledo is 37 degrees, off Cleveland 35
degrees, and off Erie 36 degrees.

I had 73 yesterday south of Columbus when I left for the lake. It was 35 when I got to Marblehead.

    Verry foggy today.
