Hey I might be coming to erie tomorrow. But have never fished this time of yr. Was wondering where to try. Trolling cranks. Also I have never used snap weights ahead of lures. How do you know how deep snap what goes with amount of line out? Any help would be great. Thanks!!

Go on line to redneck outfitters weight chart. Remember this is at 1.8 & speed greatly affects lead weights. I would never troll that slow this time of year

So if I'm using a deep bandit and using a 2oz wght to get 26' down. So attach lure let out 50' then attach 2oz wght and let out 50 ' more should be close? Let's say 2mph-2.5

According to precision trolling that gets you to 40 feet down. BUT, that is speed dependant as was mentioned before. Get the precision trolling app. I believe it's about $2.99 per lure and is great for bandits, P10s, Rattle Tots etc.

I think the weight adds the extra depth.

Can someone explain to me why you run weight 50' in front of lure instead of just a 6 foot leader? What advantage do you have?

    Thank you,
    Rickerd

You are using the dive curve of the lower plus the wait to pull down

When we use weights its normally 6 ft in front ..........gets around having to pull the weight off each time
