Fishing 12/22 and 12/23
I'm a little behind since i took off for Tennessee right after i got home on the 23rd and just returned to mi yesterday.
We had a couple of good trips just before Christmas. We launched out of Mazurik at 8 am on the 22nd and headed to the north side of Kelleys island and marked fish a lot of fish and big fish right away, we spread out bandits and husky jerks at 1.0 from 15 to 25 down some with weight some without. We ran a couple p-10's out the back on stern planers. First pass we determined they wanted the p-10's so we switched them all up for the second pass running 10 lines. We cleaned house on that pass with 4 - 9lb fish and a 3 man limit to call it a day.
We launched at 7:30 on the 23rd and headed to the same location. Marked lots of fish still in that area but couldn't get them to go. Had to move out to the middle between the monument and west dock and switch to bandits to get em. 15 to 25 down 1.2 smaller grade fish on the 23rd slower bite for us. Couple of great trips for December. Had a lot of fun fishing with all these kids. Hope we can get out a few more times.

Hey Porkchop - do you have any pics that show your rod holder setup? I just purchased a new Hewescraft that is similar to your boat (smaller version) and would like some ideas on how to set it up. I’m still trying to decide if I want to stick with my inlines or switch to big boards.

I run rod trees for 4 boards and one fold out holder behind it for a 5th. if i need more lines i run a 6th board off my rod tower. I change them up for dipsy fishing and put two fold outs and a raised up cradle behind the rod tree. I have 5 rod holders on a custom rail that i made out of aluminum and it is covered in rubber on the transom. these are adjustable in all directions for a lot of different set ups. i run stern planers and down rods off of them. i also run stern planers off of my rod tower the lines are high enough the don't interfere. i like the inline boards better myself. It gives me more control of all of my baits and where i want them to be running. give me a call i would like to talk to you about your other post as well if your interested.
