Default Stick baits and treble hooks

How about swapping the treble hooks for single hooks? Any experiences and types of hooks you can share?

I have changed my stinger spoons as a replacement hook a size 2 siwash hook but never found the change made much difference enough to change
every thing in my box. A few years back it was a fad so to speak to change
them for a better hook up (?) seen no difference.

When I swap out treble hooks I go with Mustad TG-76 hooks. They are shorter and wider than a stock hook so I can go 1-2 sizes bigger in size without affecting the lure action plus the wider hook keeps them pinned better in my opinion.

Only swapped treble with single hooks on spoons I used when King Salmon fishing. Cut down on the leverage those bruisers had and I believe we landed more fish. Never felt I needed to do that with walleye.

Some guys switch to single hook with spoons but have not heard of single hooks on cranks.Think single hook May put a crank out of balance and may not swim properly.

I switch all my spoons to singles, but you better make sure that they are sharp! I sharpened or switched out hooks on over 350 baits this spring and was amazed at the amount of new hooks that were dull right out of the pkg!

Back in my bass tournament days it was said and pondered that single hooks get better penetration with a single barbed hook, less hooks to sink in
Then there’s the net tangled up
I have a rubber net but three sets of trebles and a flopping fish is dangerous. Sure there’s jaw clamps and pliers billy clubs with good general technique I’ve been successful. But thinking I’ll change a few to try it.
