    Default Dipsy depth

With the same amount of line out and same setting which diver is deeper. One diver with 30# braided or diver with 20# mono ???

The braid will be deeper, 30 braid is about the diameter of 10 mono

A dreamweaver 107, similar to a dipsey, just larger around and bo ring. On the package. 3 setting on braid 50ft back at speeds 2.1ish its running 29 ft down

With 25 mono its 20 ft down.

Again this is from their packaging

×2 what Ben said.30lb braid still thinner diameter than 20lb mono

Plus mono is more buoyant. So even if they were the same diameter, braid would go deeper.

So I have precision trolling app loaded and purchased the dive chart for #1 Dipsy (Standard Ring) - Setting 3 and it tells me using 30# braid at 2.5 MPH with 50ft out I am 15 ft down. This is not correct according to all my replies ?? Am I dumb or what

You are correct 2.5mph 50ft back is running about 15ft down on 3 setting.

    From Dreamweaver website

    Deeper Diver Size 107

    25 lbs mono line
    Line Out (Feet) 25 50 75 100 150 200 250
    Depth Setting 0 14 30 40 50 60 65 70
    Depth Setting 1 15 30 35 45 55 60 65
    Depth Setting 2 15 25 30 40 50 55 60
    Depth Setting 3 10 20 25 35 45 50 55

The Dipsy #1 w/ring, and Dreamweaver #107 deeper diver have different dive amounts, as they are not exactly the same...........also note this is based on #25 mono, and #30 braid is considerally thinner, so it will be deeper.

Still confused, I understand there is a slight difference Dipsy and dreamweaver but my chart that came with the new dipsy reads
    #1 with ring 2.5mph 20# mono 3 setting 50ft out = 24ft down
    #1 with ring 2.5mph 30#braid 3setting 50ft out = 15ft down.
Quite a difference so either the diver chart is wrong or the precision trolling is wrong. Guess IÂ’ll just have to find a soft bottom and touch down to determine which chart to believe . Thanks for all the input gentlemen

Just looked at my dipsey chart and it is based on 20lb mono.My #1 dipsey with ring on 3 setting shows 24ft deep too.I would say the braid would run it a foot or two deeper. That 15ft deep is incorrect.

The 30# braid is .013 dia. same as Trilene 10lb mono.
