Keep this in mind. Most have the day off, and there are a large number of boaters whose boat only leaves the dock 3 times a year: Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day.

There are 3 days a year the lake will look like a city out there and the 4th of July is one of them.

I would say the days around the 4th one of the busiest times on the lake.If we have nice weather will have a lot of fisherman, pleasure boaters and jet skis. Also plenty of inexperienced boaters.Be carefull around the mouth of the channels especially and carefull of the submerged docks and breakwalls.Car traffic is also dangerous.Alot of people either distracted or don't know where they are going.

The rentals will be full and lots of people not familiar with Erie will bring boats up. Keep your head on a swivel coming in and out of the harbors. There are tons of people who don't know the rules out there on holiday weekends.
