    Default Very few Perch

This is sort of an overall report on the current (Thursday September 13) perch fishing being experienced in the far west end (Maumee bay - Michigan line - End of shipping channel - West Sister Island - B Can - Crane Creek and all areas in between.

4 boats fishing with at least 5 people per boat.

    Boat #1 = 6 perch - 6 hours fishing
    Boat #2 = 7 perch - 3 hours fishing
    Boat #3 = 13 perch - 6 hours fishing
    Boat #4 = 53 perch - 6 hours fishing

The fish are there - just not biting. My boat was boat #2. We fished all along the shipping channel - from harbor light past turn around. Marked a lot of fish. Perch are stacked up on bottom. Actually did catch over 20 sheep head. The 7 I cleaned had empty stomachs.

    Getting frustrated like everyone else.

1 Additional note - The area around the turn around has a lot of walleye marks suspended around 20 - 25 feet.

Wow! that is tough fishing. Any thoughts if they will ever start to pick up before the end of Oct? I don't remember it being this bad in past years.
    Thanks,
    Bruce

Left wild wings this morning, very foggy, lots of deadheads floating around. Headed to A can, nothing but mud and weeds and sheephead. Headed out east of west sister and was worse. Went back inside and found cleaner water. Northeast of Bessie about 3 miles, 20 feet of water. Crappie rigs, Goldies, third dropper which caught most. 32 real nice perch, went 12 pounds. Not fast at all. Caught em from 11 to 3. Long day. Wasted 3 hours out searching for clean water. Hope this helps. Good luck all, stay safe.

We went out of Turtle Creek yesterday and went to A. Nothing but mud. We also went east of Sister. Decided to call it quits. On way back in we ran across L can and found very clean water. There were 3 boats there. Decided to try it. Caught 60 in just over 2.5 hours. Goldies. Spreaders and perch rigs
