Nw Catawba

Fished yesterday in 26’ nw of Catawba. All
day 3 man limit. #1 dipseys with spoons, 3.5/52’, 1.5/44’ and 0/36’. Nothing over 20”, 6 sheep and 6 short.
Did catch a yellow/golden eye. Anyone else caught one this year? Had 1 last year.

We fished Friday.Started off lakeside again.Like the previous two weeks.Caught a few skinny 16" fish which we threw back and kept a couple nicer fish.Then the trash fish started hitting like crazy and some shorts.The sonar looked different than the previous two weeks.Had a lot of extra small marks almost from the bottom up.Looked like the air bubbles we get near the surface,but had to be the junk fish.After about 2hrs and only two keepers decided had to move.We headed north and those small marks started to thin out as we got deeper.Was headed for a pack of boats,when we spotted Captain Eric all by his lonesome.Figured he needed some company.We got about1/4 mile behind him and began to catch.After another couple hours got our 18 fish and went home.At one point when we made a turn had fish on all 6 lines.The rough NE waves made reading the inline and dipsey difficult to read and had to tighten the set on dipsey and TT30 to keep them from popping.Used all spoons.Dipsey on 3 setting caught from 60 to 45.The TT30 leads were 80 to 45.Was in 29-25 fow.
