Set out Tuesday morning for a two day trip. Started with harnesses in about 35 fow east of Kelleys and got a couple keepers but had to move because of the short walleyes. Got to the point where we couldn't even get a board out before a short hit it. So we moved east and north to 44-45 fow due east of long point. Much better. Not real fast but the better walleyes were there. We got about 9 on the first pass. When it got too slow we went around for another pass but got into the white perch and had had enough of the worm harnesses. Switched over to bandits and got rid of most of the junk. We used chrome huff daddy and I be frozen. 100 to 120 back at 2.5 mph. Got some real nice ones including a 29.5. she was fine so after a quick photo we put her back. Also got a 20 inch steelhead which none of us had seen before. That too went back. Ended the day with 17 fish for 3 guys. Wednesday was another story. Went back to the same area but the waves were 3-4 ft and we couldn't get anything going. Mover to Kelleys Island shoal where it was better but only got sheep and one walleye. Had enough. gave up at 2 o'clock. What a difference a day can make on Lake Erie. Mother Nature calls the shots. No complaints though. Had one great day and that's fine with me. Looking forward to next time.
