Fishing for them Sunday with soft craws and drop shot rigs to avoid as many sheep as possible. Usually do put in Bay and then south side little bass island. Any other spots we should try?

A few years ago a friend of mine was snorkeling around Kelly's Is. and said the under water grasses were holding quite a few. I don't know which area off Kelly's he was and how far. For what it's worth maybe you could ask around.

South side "little bass island?" No idea what you are talking about. South side of what?

This time of year boat traffic is down from summer weekends so try the areas that are hard to fish in the summer, such as the shallow shoal on the north west corner of South Bass out to the red Put-In-Bay entrance buoy; the Buckeye point shoal out to the Red channel entrance buoy; the west side shallows off Ballast Island; and the rocky reef about half way from the Catawba Point Miller Ferry Dock to the south side point of South Bass Island. These areas don't get fished as much due to boat traffic in the summer season.
