    Default Landing nets...

This site has been a wonderful resource in so many ways. I want to thank those men and women who take the time to share ideas and information on a regular basis. Your knowledge has been invaluable this season. Thank you!
I need some input about landing nets. I am in the market to buy a new one that will last. I am not afraid to put up some cash for the right net...recommendations?

The s3 I think. Cabelas has them. Black and red coated nylon mesh. Handle has push button telescope.

Follow their recommendations about landing fish with the handle extended and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Ditto with Troy1976's recommendation. Its heavy duty, hooks don't get caught in the net and it stores nicely I the cuddy.

    I have one of these,

it is very light extruded aluminum, but it is built tough, extends, folds and stows well. It even has the netting that resists hook entanglement.

I love my rs net. Large, deep, handle has lots of range, easily comes apart for storage has coating to help keep hooks out, wish it was full rubber, sometimes my bandits still snag, but I know some ppl don't like the weight of fI'll rubber

I have a Ego S2 reach with the 22X23 basket. It works well. I like how easy it extends and deploys. Handles 30" fish fine if the rod guy and net guy work together, but could be a smidge larger for gators....haven't lost any big fish due to net issues yet tho.

I have an RS Net. They are definitely pricey for the walleye series, but worth the expense. Made in the USA. I think I have the Green Bay model for about $170.

I use the ego s2 slider with the 48x108 handle and started with the 23x27 net. then I talked to someone at egos2slider.com and got them to custom make me 2 nets that's 27x33 and that's what I use now. when we net a fish we retract the handle before lifting the fish in the boat. don't know if it would hurt anything by not retracting the handle. but I don't want 108' of handle coming in the boat. and its so easy to retract the handle, just push the button and close the handle. it is not hook proof but the net does have a coating that helps keep the hooks out. and it floats.

I have the ego slider and also retract after landing fish , keeps me from hitting every one in the head with the handle
