Don't think they make a mono heavy enough to run big boards. Not sure.

This is what many folk are using for big board tow lines > https://amishoutfitters.com/catalog/...products_id=17
It is what we use and in addition we use a pair of heavy snubbers coupled between the towline and the boards to soak up the wave action.
We use 2 snubbers so that if 1 breaks the board is still attached to the towline.Roy Page

I used mono on my big boards. it works a lot better than the tow line that came with the reels. it doesn't jerk the boards like regular tow line and the releases slides out the line like butter. I used 400 lb line I got off ebay.

Actually many of us charter guys use a custom bungee system to give play to the tow line. The bungee system allows much more give in the system than board snubbers. It's also important to use medium light rods so you don't get snap offs in big surf.

Ditto walleye2go! Check out a few charters at channel grove and you will see. We all can troll in some big water with few pull-offs.

Capt Greg, I would be intersted in seeing what you have rigged up sometime. Are you the boat next to "daylight in the Swamp"? If so I am straight across to north of you. thanks
