I think they #2s ,also most bass pro fishermen up size there hooks at least 1 size with very little effect if any to the action of the lure especially a big billed bait like the bandits.

Sorry after close examination of the hooks on the bandits, they are #4 hooks, measured &compared they looked big to me for #4's but they are just a longer shank
I had a hook break on the very first walleye I ever caught on a Bandit. I hate trying to untangle 3 hooks out of the net every time we catch a fish too! Those are 2 things I don't like about Bandits.
I use to have issues with my net's also, but about 15 moons ago I thought I would try dipping it in urethane, got hard, would not allow the hooks to penetrate the net cords, best thing i ever done for my net, now they have rubber dipped, not the rubber net, they also make one they call hook proof :-)
I though the custom painted bandits from DJ's came with Gamakatsu gonna on them. Not sure on size, and maybe I'm thinking of something else, but I thought for sure I'd heard that he switched them out for better quality hardware.
I have some of his,and the hooks are not gamakatsu, the ones i have are the same as the stock.
Maybe it was his harnesses that had the good ones on them. Oh well, thanks for the clarification.
Your welcome!
I know for a fact DJ DOES replace the stock bandit hooks but they are not gamakatsu...at $2-3 per hook there's no way a custom bait maker could sell.a bait at a price anyone would buy with those hooks
