    Default Unusual walleye catch

Went perch fishing at B can Tuesday. 4 of us caught 1 24" walleye, 1 23"walleye and a 17" one jigging for perch. Also caught 5 9" and 2 13" walleye. The 1 13" was gill netted. I tied a short loop in my perch rig in order to shorten up the distance from weight to hook. Walleye decided to try and swim through loop and got caught. Probably 1 in 1 million chances. We did catch a bunch of big white perch that we are now keeping since they do not taste too bad. Maybe a little softer then yellow perch. Only caught 10 keeper yellow perch but they were all decent size. One went 11 1/2 inches. Had 50 # of perch at the cleaners. only fished from 8:30 till 12:30. Great day on the lake.

Nice to hear the perch are starting! Thank you for the info and for getting those white perch out of the gene pool!
