    Default NOAA Buoy 45005

My favorite buoy is now up and running with new solar panels and antenna. I feel it gives some of the best info as to what is going on with the wind and the waves currently near our fishing hole. It is located 16 miles NW of Lorain and should be high on your list when looking for a reliable source of lake conditions. Check it out before you go out. Could save you a lot of grief.

It doesn't look like it's reporting wave height on every transmission right now. Wonder if that is a new standard, or its just not fully operational

You can also text the buoy #45005 or any other to 734-418-7299 and receive a text with current data.

Just the number (45005) or with the # sign in front of it?

I talked to Doug Sharp in the Cleveland CG office (216-902-6070) and he said he would look into the wave reporting. He also said the yellow paint is on hand and will be applied to the buoys in due time. (I'm not holding my breath)
