Crappie Fishing around East Harbor

I wanted to try crappie fishing around the East Harbor area. Can anyone tell me if the crappie fishing is any good in this area and what time of year does the crappie fishing begin? Any suggestions on how to crappie fish in lake erie area?

We usually spank the crappie from the second week of May through the second week of June in East Harbor. We catch them usually around any pilings, piers, and big rocks. We also find them in and around concrete docks. It seems like the steel and concrete transfer heat into the water and this attracts the crappies and don't be suprised by the monster rock bass you catch too. We use minnows with split shots and bobbers and small white road runner jigs tipped with with white gulp twister tails. I hope this helps you and good luck.
