Trolling Rods
I know this is a long shot but I am in desperate need of a couple Cal 1100 Ugly Stik 7' medium action rods. If anyone has a few extra lying around and would like to sell please give me a shout. Is there another rod available comparable to the 1100's that I could mix in? Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Mike

The replacement for the Cal 1100 is the Ugly Stik GX2 here is a link to their site and they are listed under the casting rod section. I am currently using eight of them and have no complaints on any of their functionality. I would buy them again if need be. There are no inserts to come loose in the line guides, they are stainless steel. The 7 foot model is available at Walmart, they do cost a little bit more than the Cal 1100 models did. Action is similar but it is different.

There is a definite difference between the 2 rods, but to me it is a subtle difference and not great enough to make that much of a difference in ones ability to read them side by side. The difference shows up more on the big boards than the small boards. I actually feel the GX2 has a better action than the old CAL 1100. They also have a similar look.
