what rods do you guys suggest for different trolling situations

I think the Ugly Stik CAL 1100 medium action 7ft. rods will handle about all possible trolling situations for Erie eyes. They work well with the big boards as well as with inline boards. They also handle dipsys rather well also. You can usually find them for under 30 bucks which is a plus and they are almost indestructable. They are also the work horse rod for alot of the charter captains.

What ever rods that you choose be sure that they are all identical (matched), it will make reading them easier as you can compare them to each other and be able to tell at a glance if you need to take off a small fish or some weeds. It is only my personal opinion but I would spend a little more for a quality reel and a little less for a good rod. Speaking of reels, Cabela's have the Daiwa Accudepth Plus Linecounter Reel on sale now for $44.99 to $54.99 depending on size. By all means purchase what you feel that you want/need or you may never be satified with your rods/reels.
