if you want a line for inline boards you can use Trilene xl 12# but a lot of people want something a little more scratch resistance. if you're
running dipsy style divers you want 30# power pro.

Used to used Berkley XL 12lb. Switched to Berkley Big Game 15lb clear and green - works just fine - lot cheaper - change it every other year.

don't know if you're still following your post, but the way your fishing makes all the difference in the world. we started drifting the western basin with spinning gear and 8# trilene xl line. when we started trolling some years later we flatlined with the same 8# line. but it's to light for running inline boards or using big boards. for boards, I recommend 12# to 15# big game but Trilene XL will work.
