    Default Newbie walleye help

Can someone give me 6 "go to" spoon colors & if I can use braid or stainless on my dipsy rigs. Are fleas an issue? Fishing East of Kelly's

    Thanks

I've never really been big on running spoons..it does vary person by person but I feel as if I caught just as many fish and normally bigger fish on stickbaits such as reef runners or bandits..as the year goes on most people will faithfully use either one of those in shallower water once it cools

If your fishing near the islands then braid. Fleas not issue as for spoons copper back for me and I like chicken wing, monkey pike, blueberry, pooh bear whatever color and I have several pinks and purples.

I guess I don't know what fleas you are referring to. What fleas?

I always watch the trends in color for spoons or sticks and just go with your gut as long as it is not over 48 hrs. old..... For the use of braid for dipsy's I use braid as a main line with fluoro. or mono. leaders with the same for jets also. As for sticks/cranks I usually
put on a snap and pull them with them direct with the braid. Most people consider me somewhat of a dog at times I have began dusting myself with flea powder to control those fleas (?)..

I assume you meant flies? And if so then no flies have not been a huge issue yet this year, a few here and there is all.

Water fleas. I mostly salmon fish Ontario where they are a problem after June. Sounds like that is not the case on Erie.

Water fleas not a problem , just a lot of grass if we've had a big blow. Alot of walleye fall victim to a green antifreeze colored back spoon also.
