    Default 4-2-18 jigging maumee bay

Ran 2 trips Monday. Jigged the same area both trips NW of light house. Ripping Capt. Jays blade baits. The morning trip was a fast trip as we ended at 9:30 with their 12 fish. Purple and pinks were the ticket. It slowed way down once the sun got up and more boat traffic. The afternoon was a bit different. 2 kids ages 13 and 10 and granddad and dad. Granddad caught the most, white knight pulled most of the fish but purple and pinks pulled some as well. The wind was coming out of the east and built to 3 to 4s by the time we left. They left with 13 of their 16. Only one pic of afternoon trip. Them guys were ready to roll once we got back. They will be back for a trolling trip as soon as it gets warmer.4-2-18 jigging maumee bay-29684067_2038921092803617_8833979584968746750_n-jpg4-2-18 jigging maumee bay-30124827_2039782969384096_2726129194846597429_n-jpg

    Very nice.

Fish look like they picked up a lighter color, maybe from the stained water...?

??? When the wind grew the waves to 3-4, any idea what speed she was blowing at?

Planning on a shot out there next week on my 17'er...

I have a question, Capt. When you're jigging maumee bay, do you still launch out of oak harbor? If you do, how long does the run take to get there and if not, where do you launch? When I'm jigging I usually launch out of Magee, and later on Mazuriks. I've never fished west of Magees, so I'm curious. I'll be up there on the 20th side I hope the bite made it's way east by then .

You can also launch at culling park in point place will put you in maumee bay. Some area of the bay has river restrictions so check the regs over. I think it's a line from turtle island to little cedar point. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
