    Default Missing Boaters...

    http://m.toledonewsnow.com/#!/newsDetail/25270562

A very experienced fisherman, his girlfriend, her niece, and a friend were fishing yesterday afternoon....called their tournament partner (a friend of mine) to let them know they only needed one more fish and were headed in after that. At 6:30 pm they didn't show up at the ramp and have been missing ever since. All their phones go directly to voicemail now, so it's sounding pretty bad. They were headed in from the area around Green and Rattlesnake and had launched out of Turtle Creek.

Bryan Huff and Amy Santus fish the LEWT events together, so they are not novice boaters and have a lot of experience. But, with all the deadheads floating around out there right now, anything could have happened.

The USCG and BP have been out looking for them since early this morning.

Please, if you see a 21' Tracker Tundra out there, go investigate and call the Coast Guard.

I've attached a picture of his boat from his Facebook page.

    Thanks

I'm sick to the stomach reading this and pray that they find them OK. Hopefully we know something here shortly as the daylight should make the search efforts much easier.

Bad news...the boat has been found over by Toussaint Reef...no one aboard. The dive team is headed out right now.

So sad... Only hope is that they made it ashore quickly and hunkered down to survive the night. It was a cold night down here at 33 degrees, probably below freezing over the lake.

Prayers going out to the rescuers, victims and their families.

Lake Erie is still very cold. Temps up there are running 10 degrees colder than just 40 minutes south. That is a lot of cold coming off of that big body of water. Please wear your life jackets, especially when running. Not to say that they weren't/aren't, just with the cold water, you will lose movement of your limbs quick and down you go without a life jacket.

That doesn't make much since being that it was anchored. If there would have been engine failure and they anchored I'm sure they would have called someone or notified via radio and if the boat was still right side up why not stay with it? Pirates??

A very somber morning Juls. Prayers.
