Smile Spawning areas by Bass Islands????

Was hoping for some advice for any areas that may hold spawning fish in areas close to The Bass Islands. We will be staying on South Bass from Aprill 12th thru the 19th. From reading the reports online it appears this will be to early for open water trolling. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    tallboy,
That is by no means to early for trolling. It's one of the best times for trolling. Head over by A,B&C cans and you'll find plenty of suspended fish. The oly problem that early is water clarity. Best of luck

Troll as slow as you can. Do a little research and you will find past dates and conditions of the Cabellas walleye tournament that uses South Bass as the host sight. It is usually in the middle of April and some years has been cancelled due to weather. They target large females trolling large crankbaits ( JSR#5 and #7 and down deep husky jerks) often blue/silver or blue orange in color, moving @ .8- 1.2 mph......Good luck
